| Experience the world of chemistry with an expert faculty
covering analytical, biochemistry, inorganic, organic, physical, and
several interdisciplinary fields. Each chemistry major receives individual
attention,
guidance, and direction in his or her pursuit of excellence in chemistry.
Undergraduate projects are encouraged. Modern instruments and an enthusiastic
faculty provide for a challenging educational environment. |
| |
| At the completion of four years of study, a BS degree in chemistry is
awarded. Students may pursue an American Chemical Society certified degree,
an honors degree, and/or a chemistry degree with an interdisciplinary
minor. Graduation opens opportunities for entrance into graduate or medical
school,
and medically related fields as well as entrance into industrial and
government sector careers. |
| |
| Chemistry is a fundamental science. Our department emphasizes individual
student attention. Small class size in upper level major courses means greater
individual attention. You get direct hands-on contact and experience with
modern instrumentation. As an ACS certified department, students receive
a fundamental and professionally recognized chemical education, an excellent
preparation for numerous occupations as well as for graduate or professional
schools. |
| |
| We offer curriculums in traditional chemistry and in pre-medical studies.
Our program provides flexibility and selection to meet individual student
needs and aspirations. Students may opt to pursue a research project
in experimental or computer-based computational endeavors. Undergraduate
research can lead
to publication of results in a professional journal. |
