Cora Mae Savoy Scholarships
 
  The department of chemistry awards two Cora Mae Savoy scholarships of $500 each in the fall semester. The award is to chemistry majors who have completed at least one semester of their sophomore year. Juniors are also eligible. Interested students should submit to Dr. Braun, the Department head, a cover letter indicating why they should receive the award, as well as a university transcript of their grades.

Also, you may hand-deliver the letter with transcript to our office, which is located at Montgomery Hall, Room 202.

A. Bruce Mouton Endowed Scholarship
 
  $1000 a year is awarded to a student majoring in pre-pharmacy or nursing.

Eligible applicants must:
  • Be a U.S. citizen and Louisiana resident
  • Be a Resident of Lafayette or Vermilion Parish
  • Be a pre-pharmacy student who is a sophomore in course credit hours or a nursing student who is a junior or senior
  • Have a minimum 2.5 GPA

G.L. Coussan Honors Scholarship
 
  The requirements for this scholarship are as follows:
  • Applicants must be residents of one of the following parishes: Acadia, Iberia, Lafayette, Saint Martin, Saint Mary, or Vermilion, and have attended headstart, kindergarten, elementary, or high school in one of these parishes.
  • Eligible applicants can have earned no more than 30 semester hours.
  • Faculty members must complete a nomination form. Interested students must complete an information form and submit it to the nominating faculty member.
