Lab Safety
Laboratory Safety is our top priority. Each lab is equipped with safely showers, emergency eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, fire blankets, first aid kits, and chemical fume hoods.
In addition to these safety precautions, we have a mandatory policy on safety glasses and protective wear while working in a teaching lab or a research lab.
The Laboratory Safety Rules and Agreement, which illustrates our safety rules and requirements, must be signed by every student as proof that they have been explained and that they understand the safety regulations of the lab space.
Students requiring special conditions due to a disability must speak to the instructor prior to scheduling a lab course. Students needing Service Animals in the lab must follow the guidelines set forth by the Department of Chemistry.
Any questions concerning safety in the laboratory should be directed to Dr. Eric Taylor first.
